Comments: The Tri Delta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter is proud to host the 26th annual Care Affair to benefit CURE Childhood Cancer on April 25, 2009 at 103 West in Atlanta. Our event this year will be a dinner and live auction preceded by a reception. We are anticipating selling out to around 300 people this year.
CURE Childhood Cancer is a non-profit organization dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through research, education and much needed support of patients and families whose children have been stricken by this disease. CURE Childhood Cancer raises money for life-saving research done in Atlanta at the Aflac Cancer Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine. Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the United States – claiming the lives of more young people under the age of 20 than any other disease. Childhood cancer takes an enormous emotional, physical and financial toll on entire families whose children are stricken by the disease. Each year, it is our honor to include as a Care Affair speaker someone who has experienced first-hand the traumas related to childhood cancer.
In addition to supporting CURE Childhood Cancer, 10% of the money raised during Care Affair provides educational financial assistance for well-deserving women through the Tri Delta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter Scholarship. Care Affair gives us the opportunity to give back to our community in more than one way! In its 26 years, Care Affair has become a familiar and favorite event for many Atlantans. What began as a small reception and auction has evolved through the years into a significant and heart-warming gala, raising well over $1,500,000!
We invite you to support Care Affair in the form of a donation of two British Airways tickets to be used in either our live auction or as part of our raffle drawing. Anything that you could provide in the way of tickets, either domestically or internationally, would be an incredible donation and wonderful expsosure for British Airways!
