American Airlines is encouraging members to donate to disaster relief efforts abroad and in the U.S. by giving away bonus miles. Members who donate to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support UNICEF’s efforts to assist those affected by the Myanmar cyclone and Wenchaun earthquake or the American Red Cross effort to provide relief to the recent floods and tornadoes in the Midwest are eligible for the bonus mile offer.
Between now and July 31, 2008, American AAdvantage members who make a donation to UNICEF or the American Red Cross will earn a one-time bonus of 250 miles for a minimum $50 donation or 500 bonus miles for donating $100. Members can earn a maximum of 500 miles per member, per charity. If you donate to UNICEF through the link provided below, your miles will be posted automatically within 14 days. For American Red Cross Donations, you will need to forward your donation acknowledgement to ReliefMiles@aa.com and provide your AAdvantage number.
