Lufthansa Miles & More members demonstrated their generosity by giving away 28.6 million miles in one month alone in December last year. Miles & More partners with three organizations through its “Miles to Help” donation program where the miles go directly to aid the sponsored charity projects.
The miles donated in December can provide school lunches for over 200 children in Thailand for one month or 28,000 hot meals for children in India – or pay the school fees for 500 Indian children for one year through HelpAlliance. The Living Lakes Network can use the funds to protect 365,000 square meters of Brazilian rainforest. And SOS Children’s Villages can care for over 350 children for one month with the donated miles.
Although your miles may not take you as far as they once did, they still can make a considerable difference in the lives of children and families in developing nations.
