In partnership with Brisbane radio station 97.3FM, Virgin Blue is hosting a charity flight on April 15, 2007 from Brisbane that will follow Queensland's Gold and Sunshine Coasts. The all-inclusive cost of the flight is $125 and the pilots and flight crew are donating their time for the one hour roundtrip flight. The airline and 97.3FM are sponsoring the event to raise $23,000 to buy a Liberty Swing for Variety, a children's charity. The swing is designed for people with disabilities and allows children in wheelchairs to swing safely on the equipment.
During the flight, guests will receive a goodie bag and can participate in an auction and bid for prizes such as a 737 flight simulator session and a four-night getaway at Westin Denaru Island Resort and Spa on Fiji.
