ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines' SkyMiles program today announced that non-profit organizations now can purchase miles online from Delta's SkyRewards program for fundraising campaigns. In addition to the convenience and affordability of purchasing frequent flyer miles online, Delta offers non-profit customers complimentary personal marketing assistance.
Non-profit organizations purchasing miles through Delta's SkyRewards program may use the SkyMiles logo in marketing materials and will receive template direct-mail letters and memos to solicit donations. They also will receive pre-written newsletter articles, a tip sheet and tag lines for maximizing fundraising campaigns and personal marketing assistance from Mitch-Stuart, Inc., marketing experts and fundraising program consultants.
Organizations may enroll in SkyRewards and begin purchasing miles at delta.com/skyrewards now. Through SkyRewards, companies and organizations have the opportunity to purchase miles in any denomination over the minimum purchase of 60,000 miles. The cost is $0.022 per mile, plus 7.5 percent Federal Excise Tax, and a $75 one-time processing fee.
Once miles have been purchased, the organization can choose to receive electronic miles or paper certificates for distribution. Electronic miles can be awarded via e-card, e-mail or by submitting an Excel file containing award information on delta.com.
