ARLINGTON, Va. - US Airways Golf members made Dividend
Miles auction history this October by bidding a record number of frequent flyer miles on special vacation packages to the world's finest golf resorts.
The winning bids totaled over 1.8 million miles, all of which will be
distributed evenly between US Airways' two national charity partners, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Save the Children.
A special "mystery prize" was included in this year's auction, and
one lucky bidder won a golf vacation to The Homestead, the grand dame of American resorts, located in Hot Springs, Virginia. The mystery prize includes roundtrip airfare for two on US Airways, world-class golf at The Homestead, superior resort accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, afternoon tea, nightly theater tickets, and more.
"We would like to thank all members for participating in this year's
Mystery Golf Resort Auction and for supporting the Dividend Miles Charity Program," said Mike Isom, US Airways director of marketing programs and services. "Our members' generosity sets a new standard about which we are very excited, and of which they should be very proud."
Participating resorts included: Pinehurst, Marriott's Camelbank Inn,
Presidente Inter-Continental Cozumel, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, The Sagamore, Palmetto Dunes, Kiawah Island Resorts, Orlando World Center Marriott, Seabrook Island, Our Lucaya Beach Club & Golf Resort and the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, among others.
